Fortune Fold

The paper fortune teller from the back of the classroom, in three dimensions, in your phone. This page answers the usual questions. If yours is not here, write to us — we answer personally.

How to play

1. Pick a colour on the outside of the paper.
2. Fold once for each letter as you spell it: put two thumbs on the screen, slide them together, then apart.
3. Pick a number inside, and fold that many times.
4. Lift a flap: your fortune is written underneath.

On a folding iPhone the thumbs are not needed: the phone itself folds the paper. A setting brings the thumbs back if you prefer them.

The folding does not respond

One fold means closing and opening again, exactly like the real thing. The dots under the instruction show where you are: the current dot half-lights as soon as the paper is squeezed, and fills when you open it again.

Themes and the purchase

The Classic theme is free. One purchase, with no subscription, unlocks the other five (Funny, Friends, Party, Flirty, Dares) for ever.

Already bought it? On a new device, open a locked theme and tap "Restore purchases". The purchase is tied to your Apple Account and works on all your devices, Family Sharing included.

Playing together

Set the number of players on the home screen. Between turns the app shows "Pass the phone": nobody sees the next player's fortune.

Languages

The app follows your phone's language, English or French — and so does the rule: the American rule (a colour, then a number) in English, the French rule (a number, then a colour) in French.
